The world largest guardian dog with a height of approximately 3.3 m and a total weight of 15 tons was created with the work of Okawa Gamaユs forth-generation potter, Hashiba Yozaemon Kagetada, as its model. The idea was conceived by local people at the 35th anniversary of City of Mizunami, and it was created as a memorial of sister city relationship between Tomachi Okawa and Takahama City, located at either end of National Highway 419. Under the protection of the huge guardian dog, increasingly fond memories of oneユs travels are sure to be had.
